(Rec. Dec. 17, 5 p.m.) New York, Dec. 15. A message from Columbia (Terinessee) state that a negro youth, Cord Check, was lynched to-d'ay after being discharged by a grand jury on a charge of attacking a young white ' girl. The body was found hanging from a tree. Officials knew nothing of the lynching until notified afterwards t>y tetephone. Apparently a small hand carried' out the deed without hothering to arouse the countryside.
