ENGINEER'S REPORT
PRESENTED TO COUNTY COUNCIL AT MiONTHLY MEETING At the monthly meeting of the Rotorua County C'ouncil held last evening the following' report of work done since fhe previous meeting was presented by the engineer, Mr. T. S. Robertson: — Main Highway Tauranga Road: Metalling has been carried out on this road during the month. Hinton's Road. This work is progressing satisfactorily. Atiamuri Road: The drag has been used on this road and metalling repairs carried out. Gibbon's Road: An inspection was made of the deviation near the tobacco farm and it has been roughly graded. Rotoehu Road: Sixteen chairs of this road have been cleared and 10 chains formed. [Old Taupo Road Bridge: This requires re-decking 9x4. Total estimate £60, Council's share £30. Tenders: Specifications and estimates have heen approved for metalling on Old Tauranga 'Road and Awahiwi Road and tenders oalled to be opened to-day. Water Supply: -The water supply for natives has been commjenced. Ragwort: Eight tons of lime and 8 cwt of soda have arrived for the Noxious- Wleeds Inspeotor and two tons mixed is heing put on various bad places this week. jRailwiay signs : — (The approximate cost of these signs is £2 10s each, 12 being required. Building Permits: During the month eight building permits to the value of £1800 have been issued. Metalling: Trueks have carted metal on to ,the following roads. M.H. Tauranga Road, 565 c. yds, Atiamuri Road, 73 c. yds, Oturoa Road, 36 c. yds (fines from Vialley Road).
