RESULT OF FREE STATE LOAN FALLS WELL BELOW EXPECTATIONS

— By Telegraph — Copyright).

(Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, Dec. 13. The Irish Free State 3£ per cent loan of £6,000,000 was under-sub-scribed. The under-writers will take up the balance, the amount of which is not stated. Last minute subscriptions included £100,000 from the funds of the Free State courts, £50,000 from Galway hospitals, and £14,000 from Cardinal McCrory. The result is far below Mr. de Valera's expectations.
