EIGHT THEFT CHARGES AGAINST AUCKLAND EMPLOYEE INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE

Auckland, Tuesday. The hearing* of eight charges of theft involving a sum of £21, the property of the Auckland Transport Board was brought against Milton Ashby, aged 31 in the Police Court to-day. After hearing the evidence, the Magistrate, Mr. F. H. Hunt, S'.M., said : "I do not think that I am justified in sending the aceused for trial but this does not prevent the .Crown from bringing the charges again if further evidence is available. I want it to be understood that I am not expressing any opinion whether he is guilty or not. The case is dismissed."
