MEAT BOARD ADVISABLE
POOR QUALITY BRED London, Dec. 11. Dominion meat circles are alarmed at .tbe strengfth of the rest-rictilpn propaganda. It is now fairly clear that Britain will endeavour to further restrict imports after June 30. Mr. S. M. Bruce, Australian High Commissioner, has not yet been officially approached. A prominent meat authority said that better prices such as a strong beat board board in Britain would ensure, would more than offset its small cost. The absence of such a board was responsible for Australian meat selling at 2d per lb below ■New Zealand. _ * Other authorities declare that it is unfair to blame the Dominion imports for the weiakness of the market. The truth is that English growers themselves are breeding so much ruhhish that prices of good quality beef are being pulled down m sympathy. A further factor unsettling the market is the arrival of Canadian live cattle, 1500 of which have just been landed in England, many ready for killing.
