RIDERS HURT

SERIOUS SMASH DURING CYCLING RACE AT WAIHI 1 Waihi, Saturday. A serious accident, involving three riders, marred the meeting of the Waihi Cycle Club's sports this afternoon. Three riders were thrown together dur-ing the racing of the two-mile event. The accident was caused by the locking of the handlebars of two pf the machines. J. Jesney (Waikino) was thrown heavily and somersaulted into the air, sustaining a fractured collarbone and injuries to the knee. R. Kingsford received injuries to the left arm, necessitating several stitches, The third rider escaped with minor bruises and cuts. The Waihi Hospital reports that the condition of Jesney is satisfactory. Kingsiord was allpwed to return home after treatment.
