Amendment Bill was passed by the House of Representatives this even-i ing. At the instance of Mr. Coates, the1 House approved an amendment speeifically exempting metropolitan areas from the operation of the bill: Mr. Coates said the alteration was. necessary to place the question beyond doubt. The House also adopted an amendment fixing February 1, 1934, as the, commencement date of the Act.
