COMPANIES BILL
PALMERSTON DEPUTATION WAITS ON M.P. (Press Assn. — By Telegraph — Copyrlght). Palmerston N., Tuesday. A deputation representing the limited liability companies in the city waited on Mr. Nash, M.P., with the object of taking steps to oppose the provision in the Companies Bill, which they consider inimical to their interests. The provision refers to the compulsion of companies to engage auditors to examine their books. The deputation pointed out that the measure would be serious. It was felt that it was not wax-ranted, because such businesses as those represented should not be treated diff erently from firms which, though not limited liability companies in comprehension, were very similar, but were not placed under the same disadvantage. An individual might have aetually a larger business, but was not placed under the same impost or subjected'to the expense of an audit. The member for Palmerston promised tp place the representation before the committee on the bill.
