CAME TOO LATE
MURDERER HANGED WHILE REPRIEVE ORDER LAY UNOPENED (Rec. 11.5 p.m.) Calcutta, NoV. 28. The day after a man was hanged for murder in Lahore gaol, a letter to'the gaol superintendent was opened containing instructions to suspend the execution pending an appeal which had been admitted by the Privy Couneil. The local paper asserts that the letter arrived long before the execution but that owing to a mistake, it was not delivered until tpo late.
