SIR STAFFORD CRIPPS ADVISES A STRIKE

"If the country declared war contrary to international pacts I would advise the workers to begin a general strike," said Sir Sltafford Cripps (Labour member for Bristol and formerly S olicitor-G ener al ) at a Sutton meeting, which passed a resolution demanding that the executive of the Labour Party immediately act to stop the production and transportation of munitions, without waiting for war to break out.
