HUNTLY FIRES

THREE HOUSES DESTROYED ON FRIDAY NIGHT HEAVY LOSS INCURRED
Huntly, Saturday. Troubles continue to befall Huntly. On Friday night three houses were destroyed by fire. The fire, which commenced in the centre house, a four-roomed residence owned by Mr, E. J. Farrell and occupied by Mr. A. Black, was first noticed ablaze by a party of musicians returning to Huntly from a dance. A baclc window near fihe kitchen was broken and they hurriedly awoke the -only occupant, Mr. Black. The remainder of the family was away from home at the time. The flames rapidly took a strong hold, and none of Mr. Black furniture was saved. Prior to the arrival of near-by residents the fire had spread to the adjoining houses on either side, one occupied and owned by Mr. A. Harlock and the other occupied by Mr. H. Gainsford and owned by Mr. E. J. Farrell.
