MAYOF OF STRATFORD CRITICISES THE MINISTER - SHOULD RESIGN
— By Telegraph— Copyrlght).
Stratford, S'aturday. A vigorous protest against a reduction in the unemployed relief pay was made by the Mayor, Mr. J. W. McMillan, in an address last night. "The past position was bad enough, but since the Unemployment Board had considered it better to give buihling subsidies equivalent to presents | to people who could alford to build j witbout assistance, it was much j worse. I do not lcnow how the unfortunate people will fare now that their allocation is being redueed in order to help those who do not need help. ' "As the Minister of Employment has made such a mess of .the task, I consider he should be asked to resign. "The only way to bring about a change is by public opinion. Justice is apparently measured by votes. ^ If the voting power is there anything can be obtained."
