Nice, Nov. 24. Casino Palais De La Mediterranee, which' cost £1,000,000 caught on fire on the eve of its opening. The Casino was built by the American millionaire, Mr. Jay Gould. It •took two years to build and was the most magnificent on the Riveria. Fire engines from Nice and other cities dashed to the scene. One collided with a private car and overturned and many were injured. The flames in" the ballroom and restanrant, which cost a fortune, were quelled, but both' were ruined. Incendiarism is suspected.
