WOMEN'S CLUB

Despite the other a.ttractions that were booked for .the same evening, the dance held in Dixieland last Wednesday by the Rotorua Women's Club proved quite a successful function, and the funds of the cluh were further benefitted by their effor.ts. Daneing, bridige and 500 passed a very pleasant evening, and prizes were won for the 500 tournament by Mrs. T. Hulton and Mps. B. Brothers, while the hridge trophies were won by Mrs. E. T. Johnson and Mr. W(. Morrison. The prizes were presented by the Mayoress, Mrs. T. Jackson. During the evening his W'orship the Mayor, Mr. T. Jackson, spoke eulogistically of the benevolent work done "by the Women's Club, and thanked all present for their patronage that evening, and also the proprietors of Dixieland for their generosity in letting the hall free of charger " Among those present were: — fdrs.
