AUSTRALIA TO APPOINT THREE NEW TRADE GOMMISSIONERS ONE FOR NEW ZEALAND

iCanberra, Nov. 23. ■In the House of Representatives the Minister of Commerce, Mr-. Stewart, replying to questions on trade representation, said legislation will be introducefi befor-e the recess empowering the Ministry to appoint trade Commissioners. At present the Government intended to make appointments to New Zealand, Batavia and Shanghai. Mir. Stewart stated that the Federal Ministry was prepared to go to th'e utmost limit to correct the unfair position created by the subsidisation of United States shipping. "We have asked the New Zealand Government to co-operate with us, and we have had conversations with representatives of the American Government. We hope the remedy will not be d.elayed for long." It is possible that a Commonwealth Minister will visit New Zealand during the recess, in connectioni with the matter.
