Lord Marley has returned from .a tour of China, Manchuria and Russia as chairman of the anti-war congress. . . , ~ He says it is cleaf the real danger of war in the Far East is b'ased on Japan's serious economic position. Japan may find ih war a means of escape from her economic difficulties. There is widespread evidence of a belief in the Far East that Japan may undertake war against the Soviet at an early date, _ using Manchukuo as a base for attack. If she did decide on war, Lord , Marley thought it extremely unlikely that other nations would be able to withhold from the struggle.
