RICHARDSON MEETS WOODFULL IN TESTIMONIAL MATCH SOME BRIGHT SCORING

In the testimonial match, Richardson's team, in its first innings made 491 for eight wickets (deckjreld), Bowling: Wall took one wicket for 104, Iremonger none for 88, Fleet-wood-Smith two for 140; Blackie, tliree for 69, McCabe, one for 51, Darling, none for 25. Woodfull's team in its first innings have lost four wickets for 317 (Woodfull 118, Ponsford 42, Nitscbke 12, McCabe, not out 74,. Kippax 34, Darling not out 24, extras 13). The wicket and the weather was good. Woodfull's batting was marked by great confidenee, but he was dropped by O'Reilly at eight. Some of McCabe's cover drives were the essence of perfect timing. Grimmett was the most successful bowler today, taking two wickets for 84. O'Reilly worried all the batsmen and should have taken two wickets from chances which were dropped off his bowling. His figures were none for 78.
