a conference' RE-OPENING NEGOTIATIONS WITH BRITAIN PROPOSED CARDINAL MACRORY PRESIDES

(Rec. 5 p.m.) London, Nov. 18. The Cork Examiner reveals that Cardinal MacRory has agreed to preside at a conference representative of all the parties in the Free State to examine the position with a view to re-opening negotiations with Britain. There is a general agreement to participate, except on the part of Mr. de Valera who has refused, saying that the electorate endorsed his policy and that accordingly he would carry out his mandate.
