closing function; reading of "the mikado." The final soeial function of the Rotorua Wiomen's Club for this year took place at the Tea Kiosk, Government Gardens, last Wednesday evendng, where the combined literary circles oi the club entertained those present with a reading pf the musicial opera, "The Mikado.'' The kiosk lounge was attraetively arranged with blue irises and pussy willow, while vases of iceland poppies were the principal supper table decoration. Parts were taken by Mrs. H. Bertram, Mrs. a. C. Randerson, Miss e. Robinson, Miss M'. Mactier, Miss M. •Oooney, Miss C. Sharpe, Miss T. Johnson, Miss L. Harris, Miss B Hamilton, Miss F. Goodyer and Miss O. Louden. At the conclusion of the reading a vote of thanks to Miss e. Winslade was moved by Miss e. Robinson for operating- the gramophone, and also appreciation was extended to _ the readers by the president, Mfs. d. M. Ford. Those present were: Mrs. d. M. Ford, Mfs. a. T. Coates, Mrs. W. a. McLean, Mrs. Louden, Mrs. W. WHnslade, Mrs. R. Stewart, Mrs. Goodyer, Mrs. T. Burnham, Mrs. Wl Campbeli, Mrs. M. Roland, Mrs. Wjylie, Mrs. D. R. Gardner, Mrs. E. t. Harris, Mrs. J. Shiels, Mrs. e. T. Johnson, Mrs. H. L. Musgrave, Mrs. Harris. Misses Hitchen, I. Lasenby, Johnson, Y. Ford, M. Musgrave, H. E$>rd, M. Sloane, O. Harris, B. Johnstone, E. Hamilton, Cooper, F. Kerse (Invercargill).
