PROBLEM OF RECOGNITION CONTINUES UNDER * DISCUSSION ' RELIGION AND PROPAGANDA

— By Telegraph — Copyrlght) .

(Rec. 7.15 p.m.) Washington, Nov. 14. The Soviet Recognition Negotiations showed no visible progress today as American ofRcials studied the various phases of the problem without further discussion with M. Litvinoff. Newspaper reports that Mr. Roosevelt is demanding a modification of the Communist anti-religious- stand brought a hurried explanation that his only wish was an assurance of the freedom of religious worship of Americans in Russia. The Administration is carefully avoiding even the appearances of a suggestion as to how the Russians may, or may not worship. Other points under discussion, it is understood, are the tenta-

tive settlement of the 800,000,000 dollars claim against the Soviet and a guarantee against the dissemination of subversive political and religious propaganda in America.
