GUNPOWDER IN FIRE

TWO BOYS INJURED. Two boys, Wiilham Goodman, aged nine, and Eric Lambert, aged eight, were taken to Leicester Infirmary (England) recently with severe facial injuries caused by a gunpowder explosion. They were playing in a coal wharf in Belgrave Gate, Leicester, when one of them saw a tin floating in th'e water. The boys had made a fire, and, not ktowing that the tin contained gunpowder, put it on the fire. As they were le,aning over it exploded and both were badly burned. Lambert' had an accident some time ago with carbide, which affected one eye. This second mishap will probably necessitate great care to preserve his sight.
