STILL NO TRACE OF BODY AFTER A MONTH VISITORS TO FARM Huntly, Monday. After five days of organisation and investigation at the scene of the sus--pected double murder of Mr. Samuel Pendler Lakey and his wufe, Mrs. Ghristobel Lakey, Inspector J. Cummings, of the Police Commi-ssioxxer's office, Wellington, and Inspector R. Ward, of Wanganui, returned to Auck land from Ruawaro on Saturday, and; left by tr.ain for their respective statiions last evening. It as not knowri whether they hav© completed their investigations, or whether they will be returning to the mystery farm 'at Ruawaro. A month to-day the tragedy of the Lakey famnhouse was discovered, and sin-ce then ceaseless search has failed to reveal a trace of Mx\ Lakey. Police activity in Ruawaxio and surrounding -dis'triots ds concentra/bed s-olely on a search' for the body. Since the early days of the investigaition, when the double murder theory was formulated, fe-w clues h'ave come to li'ght, save for the finding :of Mr. Lakey's shotgun and a pea-rifle d-n the dark mud of a -mdniature gully ha-lf a xxxile from the farmbous?. \v . on the coal slack tip at Rotowaro was continued by constables to-day. Tihie Commissioner of Police, M'r. W. G. W-ohlm-ann, Supe-rintendent S. Till and Inspector J. W. Hiollds visitthe farm yesterday and returned to Auckland last evening. The Commissioner left by triain for Wellington last evening. Many unemployed are reporte-d to be searching prdvately in various districts. Interest in the Lakey farmstead was demonstrated yesterday, when casual oallers, some from far afield, arrived at the mystery farm. At the Naike turn-ioff a sign was erectied hy some considei'ate person, "To Lakey's." Visitors wex'e not allowed on the property.
