METCALFE MAKES A STIR IN ATHLETIC CIRCLES

Sydney, Nov. 13. The Telegraph says Australia's greatest all-round athlete, Jack Metcalfe will not compete at the National Track and Field championships at Adelaide in January. This decision has shoclced State and national athletic officials. Another announcement made by Metcalfe, which is the cause of official concern, is that he has accepted an invitation to tour New Zealand with Horsfall, of Yictoria, and Barwick, of Tasmania. The New South Wales Amat'eur Athletic Association has not yet been officially informed j of the invitation.
