-By Telegraph — Copyright) .
Jerusalem, October 29. Baton charges dispersed a fresh attempt to penetrate the police cordon. Thd1 rioters''home-made bombs exploded harmlessly. Stones were thrown and sticks used, compelling the British non-commis-sioned officers to fire a few shots. Two rioters were killed and fifteen wounded were taken to the hospital. Veiled women, screaming from housetops, incited the mob. The whole city is filled with excited arabs, eager to demonstrate. They compelled the Jewish shops to close in the main street, smashed one Jewish establishment, and compelled one British shop to put up its shutters. Members of the Arah exeeutive were arrested . Others protested against the police firing in Jaffia and demanded the release of their leaders. It was decided to protest t.o the Arab king and the League of Nations. • The Arah shopkeepers - apd motorbus- owners are continuing the strike. A flight of aeroplanes is parked in Cairo ip readiness for any emergency, but thus far they have not been required. . The police fu,lly control the situation. The curfew order is effective at nightfall. , The Jaffa trouble is apparently quelled. All Arah papers have been suspended in Damascus.
