SEVERAL AUCKLANDERS PARTICIPATE IN THE IRISH SWEEP A SHILLING SYfNDICATE •

Auckland, Saturday. Mrs. W. Morgan, of Epsom, has received advice that she' drew^ a horse in the Irish hospitals' sweepstake on the Camhridgeshire Stakes, which was run at Newmarket, England, on Wlednesday. Although the horse, La Besassine, was unplaced, Mrs. Morgan expects to receive about £1000, plus exchange. Mrs. Morgan, whose husband is an employee of the Auckland Transport Board, has no family. iSix young women, employed at the j workrooms of John Court, Limited, are the lucky members of the "Hard Up" syndicate, which won the fourth prize of £3S0 in a Tasmanian sweep'"As each of us suhscribed a shilling to purchase the ticket, we will receive a little over £50," said one of the syndicate.
