MUST COMPLETE TASK (Rec. 7.30 p.m.) Geneva, October 26 The Bureau adopted a recommendation in accordance with the proposal of Mr. Henderson, who said that for the conference at this critical
raoment to adopt a policy which could be interpreted as an indication of unwillingness or inability to complete its task would be disastrous and would play into the hands of those who said that certain powers did not intend reducing or limiting their armaments. M. Massagali indicated that the fall of tlae French Governnaent had not changed the situation. He said that any governaaaeaat formed would undoubtedly favour the continuation of the conference. Captain Eden said that the British Governmenc favoured the procedure now recommended.
