a porter contributes some contradictory evidence THE JUDGE FURIOUS

Berlin, Octoher 24 At the Reichstag fire inquiry, a porter, Hornemann, created a diversion when after declaring he' had never previously seen the accused Bulgarians, he pointed out Dimitroff, and said: "Yes, that one eame to me ori the afternoon before the' fire, saying in broken German witbin twenty minutes the Reichstag may explode." The statement was greeted with laughter throughout the court as even the prosecution is agreed that Dimitroff has an unassailable alibi. Dimitroff elieiting from Hornemann that he had not previously made such a statement, asked who influeneed him to giye such evidence to-day. The President, shouting furiously, declared that Dimitroff was insulting the witness and ordered him to diseontinue.
