"Sailor Be Good," a spicy comedy about isailor-fighters and their waterfront sweethearts, called for several -sequences to be taken of Oakie and a supporting player, M-ax Hoffman, Jr., in a prize ring. For reality, Cruz-e isubstituted tw-o experienced pugilists. Director Cruze's next job was to make the fighters box. He tried every method available, -but fruitlessly. In desperation he rehearsed Oakie and Hoffman in the -scenes. . The results were so realistde that he directed the players to do their own fighting. Jack Oakie and Vivienne Osborne are supporited by George E. Stone, Hoffman, Lincoln Stedmian, Gertrude MJichael and others in "Sailor Be Good."
