FREE MARKETING ASSOCIATION CABLES PROTEST TO LONDON IMPORTERS' REPLY Auckland, Thursday. On October 13 the New Zealand Dairy Producers' Free Margeting Association sent the following cablegram to the Importers' Association, London: — "That this meeting of representatives of dairy companies is convinced that any interference with or restriction of the absolute freedom of dairy companies to dispose.of their produce as they think fit is opposea to the best interests of the industry, and would have the effect of placing New Zealand's dairy produce at a grave disadvantage on the British market." The Importers' Association has replied as follows: — "Your cablegram circulated among all members. As an association we have no desire to advocate any regulations which in the opinion of the dairy industry are unacceptable. We draw attention to the fact that the proposed regulations were framed in conjunction with the Dairy Board at their request, and with whom, representing the dairy industry, we are carrying on negotiations." The New Zealand Association has convened a Dominion-wide meeting of representatives of the dairy indhstry in Wellington on November 2.
