COMMITTEE MEETING HELD. ' The Rotorua Croquet tllub's first committee meeting for the season 193334 was held in the pavilion last Friday afternoon, the president, Mrs. B. M. Green, presidingi After inward correspondence had been read and discussed, the president read extracts from notes taken front a croquet leeture brolaidcast from 2YA on October 5 by Mrs. Cardlow. It was resolved that the offioial opening for the season should take place on Saturday, October 28, and that a progressive toumament be held to iwark the occiaision. Invitations have -been issued to Putaruru, Miatamata and Te Puke clubs and in the 'event of the day being wet, a card afternoon will 'be held itn the Tea Kiosk. The president has kindly douatedi the prizes for opening day. It was decided that club members should be asked to instruct beginners during the coming season, so as to assist the new members as much as possible in the first stages. of the game. The following match comlittee was lelected: — (Mjrs. W. L. Richards, Mrs. C. R. Lloyd. and Mjrs. -• W. T. Pakes, while Mrs. J. R1. Blencowe wa® asked to continue as ths club's delegate at the sports meetings. The social eommittee formed oomprised' the presi-' dient and two viee-presidents.
