FRANCE RIEADY TO SACRIFICE Paris, Oetober 17 "We are deaf to no word but blind to no act," said M. Daladier, briefly replying to Herr Hitler on the reopening of the Chamber of Deputies. He asked why, if Germany desired an understanding, did she cause the rupture ? Why did she oppose controi xvhen professedly ready to destroy everything to the last rifle and machine gun? Why not accept a loyal and k sincere plan of progressive reduetion I of armaanents ? " The Prime Minister added: "France intends to remain true, whatever iiappoms to the policy of collaboration, and she will examine in that spirit the situation which not only concerns France oind Germany but the world. France's vast moderation and sacrifices precludjed tyargaining for concessiohs. The Government would continue to deftnd the great interests of France and Peace."
