UNFAIR COMPETITION WITH BRITISH LINES ALLEGED THE NEW ZEALAND TRADE
— By Telegraph — Copyright).
(Rec. 7 p.m.) London, Oetober 16 The Times city editor, welcoming the Australian and New Zealand negotiations regarding foreign shipping competition, expresses the opinion that the partictilar * issue under discussion at ptesent is the American trans-Pacifie services which are among the most upfair competition from which British shipping suffers. America barred Britain from trading between San Francisco and Hono- , lulu while British ships were forced to meet the competition of subsidised American lines trading between America and New Zealand. "This is a particularly glaring example of a government's favouritism and assistance," states the writer.
