WHEAT PRICES PROHIBITION OF EXPORT OF ' WHEAT FROM NORTH DAKOTA SPECIAL PROCLAMATION.

(Rec. 7.35 p.m.) New York, Oetober 17 The Governor of North Dakota, Mr. William Langer, late to-night signecl a proclamation prohibiting the shipment of wheat from the state. The proclamation takes effect at midnight on Wednesday and will continue indefinitely. Mr. Langer. will also ask the governors of other spring wheat producing states to join him in his action. Mr. Langer took action under an ailthority granted him by the 1933 legislature. Wheat was sold at Grand Forks on Saturday for 53 cents a bushel which, Mr. Langer said, "means ruin to many of our people if prices for other lines continue to advance." Under the Federal estimates as'on Oetober 1, the wheat production of North Dakota this year will be 62,695,000 bushels.
