government grant for the bryant scheme

Hamilton, Friday. The Government has endorsed and approved the Waikato Land Settlement Society's scheme for the establishment of unemployed and has granted £1000 towards its funds. Advice to this effect has heen received by the originator *£ the scheme, Mr. D. V. Bryant. The society hopes to commence work on the area purchased at Rotoorangi within a few days, and that at Whatawhata as soon as legal formalities have heen concluded. Within a few days also, applications from unemployed men desirous of participating in the scheme will he advertised for in the press. Special application forms are being prepared, in which the work to he done "by the men is carefully outlined, so that no misapprehensions can ex'ist. The fill-irig-in of these forms will be an imperative necessity. Mr. Bryant has expressed a wish that the public will inspect the yarious areas to be developed before much work is done oli them so that progress of the scheme can be followed from the outset.
