LITERARY CIRCLE MEETS. A very pleasant literary afternoon was spent at thaj home of Mrs. H. Bertram, "The Mount," last Tuesday, when members of th'e literary circle of the Women's Club met to read "The Beggar's Opera." Music ineluded in the opera was provided by gramophone records, which added considerably to the enjoyment of read■ing. the play. The drawing-roo.m had been beautifully arranged with bowls of golden Sazaleas, wattle and daffodils, a.nd to receive the guests Mrs. Bertram wore a sea-.green frock of fioral crepe de chine. Those present were: — Mrs. J. Learning, M]rs. Mactier, Mrs. H. P. Ford, Mrs. E. La Trobe Hill, Mrs. Rl Stewart, Miss M. Mactier, Miss D. Griffiths, Miss H. Ford and Miss, G. La Trobe Hill.
