Bankrupt's affairs are in a very unsatisfactory state, and it would be advisable to adjourn the meeting for a f ortnight to allow bankrupt to produce a statement showing his earnings and expenditure during the past two years," said Mr. V. R. Crowhurst, official assignee, at a meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Cecil Hayhoe Clarke, car painter, of Barton Street, to-day. Bankrupt's schedule disclosed unsecured creditors amounting to £112 11s 8d with assets (recoverable book debts) £10, leaving a deficiency of £102 11s 8d. When a creditor asked him where the book was that he produced on July 1, 1932, showing his position, bankrupt denied ever having such a book. Bankrupt's banking aceount was in his wife's name. The meeting was adjourned for a fortnight and bankrupt was instructed to prepare a full statement of his income and expenditure over the past two years. Bankrupt's wife is to be subpoened to attend the next meeting.
