(Rec. 7 p.m.) London, October 12. A young New Zealand architect, Mr. Uhren, who worked his passage to England as a stroker in a cargo ship in 1931, won the competition for the design of the new town hall at Hornsey costing £200,000. There were 280 competitors. Mr. Uhren had previously won a competition for the exhibition hall at Manchester.
