BUTTER MARKET
PRICES DECLINE The recent advance in butter in London has not been maintained and the highest quotation is now 106s, compared with 110s a day or two ago. The demand .for both cheese and butter is reported weak. Auckland merchants have been advised as follows : — A. H. Turnbull and Company, Ltd., from W. Weddel and Company, Ltd. — Butter: Danish, 112s; New Zealand, salted, 101s to 106s; Australian 104s to 108s. Cheese: White and coloured, 53s to 54s. The markets are stagnant. Joseph Nathan and Company, Ltd., from Trengrouse and Nathan, Ltd. — Butter: 106s. Cheese: White and coloured, 53s. Both markets are weak. The New" Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. — Butter: Finest, 107s; first, 104s. Cheese: 53s. The market is very slow.
