APPLICATION S TEN TIMES GREATER THAN STOCK ALLOCATION A GREAT SUCCESS

Canberra, Sept. 29. Details of the Australian conversion loan for £20,951,000 in London were announced by Mr. J. A. Lyons, Federal Prime Minister. The cash applications received were ten times greater than the stocks 'available for allotment. Applications for conversion will be allotted in full, cash applications are to he allotted at the rate approximately of 10 per cent. The new issue bears interest at 31 per cent. and will mature in 1953. The interest yield to investors is £3 ls lld per cent. The savings in interest and exchange amo-unt respeetively to £426,000, and £1000.
