UNEMPLOYMENT BOARD FINDS CLOSER INVESTIGATION NECESSARY Wellington, Thursday The Unemployment Board officially states that the delay in the granting of the building subsidy applications has been unavoidable owing to the large number to be dealt with. The checking process will take some time to complete. The board has found that definite •abuses of the building subsidy scheme have been made, and it is 'probable that remedial steps will have to be taken. An announcement to this effect was made to-day by Mr. Jessep, deputychairman of the board.
