AMICABLE SETTLEMENT OF S. AFRICAN TROUBLE

The executive. of the Miners' Union has assured the Chamber of Mines that it will not sanction a strike untii its r epr esentati v e s have conferre with the representatives of the mme vmanagers regarding the proper procedure for the submission of grievances. ■ --i h, . The chamber agreed that-tneie should be no victimisation or enforcement of the 10 days' penalty and on this assurance, the strike was abandoned.
