BOY AND GIRL SHOT

RIFLE SALOON ACCIKENT. As the result of an extraordinary shooting accident at a Friern Barnct (London) gardtn fete recently, a young man and woman were taken to hospital. They were Elsie Hunt, of Woodhouse Road, North Finchley, and Charles Lawrence, 'of Darby Avcnua, North Finchley. Miss Hunt and Mr. Lawrence were walking in the grounds of Friary Park, where the fete was being held, when they were accidentally shot by someone firing in a rifle saloon. They were walking by a tent which was used as the saloon. Both were so badly hurt that they had to be removed immediately to the Finchley Memorial Hospital. A pellet entered Lawrence's back near the spine, and another punctured the giiTs kft arm and entered her body.
