FRANKTON There was an exceptionally heavy yarding of sheep at the weekly stock sale at the Frankton yards yesterday when the majority of the yarding was fat ewes. There was again a scarcity of fat wethers which sold well. Ewc s were slightly firmer than last week. Hoggets and spring lanibs came forward in good numbers and sold at late rates. There was a good yarding of ox and cow beef and last weelc's rates were ■ maintained. Pigs came forward in large numbers and under good competition last week's prices were improved. Quotations: — Sheep: Heavy prime woolly wethers, 28s &d to 30s; medium prime woolly wethers, 25s 6d to 27s 3d; prime shoxn wethers, 23s to 24s 6d; medium shorn wethers, 19s 9d to 22s; heavy prime maiden ewes, 21s 6d to 22s 6d; heavy prime ewes, 18s 9d to 20s; medium prime ewes, 17s 3d to 18s 6d; killable ewes, 11s to 14s; prime shorn ewes, 13s 9d to 15s 6d; prime heavy woolly hoggets, 22s to 24s 6d; medium prime woolly hoggets 18s to 21s 6d; light prime hoggets, 15s 9d to 17s 6d; spring lambs, 18s 6d to 22s 6d. Beef: Prime heavy ibullocks, £6 16s to £7 2s; medium prime bullocks, £6 10s to £6 15s; lighter prime bullocks, £5 15s to £6 2s 6d; heavy fat cows, £4 19s 6d to £5 8s 6d; medium fat cows, £3 18s 6d to £4 10s; lighter fat cows, £2 10s to £3 10s. - Pigs: Prime heavy baconers, 60s to 65s; heavy baconers, 54s to 58s; medium baconers, 48s to 54s; heavy pork"ers, 30s to 38s; medium porkers, 24s to 28s.
