VARYING ESTIMATES
LARGE LOSS OF LIFE (Rec. 8 p.m.) Mexico, Sept. 26. The Secretary for the Interior, Senor Edouard Vasconcelos, said that the number'-of dead cannot be stated exactly. From Tampico itself, the military chief of the district reported • that three-quarters of the city has been destroyed and that many are dead and injured. From the steamer Sapanero comes an estimate of 200 dead and liundreds homeless.
