PRICE OF GOLD
SOVEREIGN WORTH ALMOST TWO POUNDS IN SYDNEY Sydney, Sept. 26. The current price of gold in Australia is the highest on record. The prices fixed by the Commonwealth Bank for gold received for the week ended September 22 were: £7 10s 2d per standard ounce, and £8 3s 10d per fine ounce. Sovereigns are quoted at 38s 2d. This also is the highest price on record.
