(Rec. 7.10 p.m.) Shanghai, Sept. 26. A Pekin message states that Fang Chen-Wu, the bandit leader rejected the Japanese demand that he immediately leave the de-militarised zone and that hostilities are therefore inevitable. A Japanese plane has already dropped bombs at Shunyi, south of Niulanshan. The Japanese offieials here say that the Japanese forces will not cross the truce line in pursuit of the rabble. The Pekin authorities are confident that theyare able to protect the city.
