Auckland, Friday. Testimony t0 the public appreciation of the worlt of Sir George Fowlds for the city and country for many years was given at a public meeting. in the Town Hall' this afternoon, when the Mayor, Mr. Hutchison, presented him with a cheque for £1350 subscribed by citizens. Glowing tributes were paid hy representative speakers to Sir George Fowlds' character, capacity and service.
