SHACKLOCK CONVICTED FOR INTERRUPTING MR. COATES' MEETING JUST TEMPERAMENTAL Christchurch, Thursday Shacklock, who interrupted Mr. Coates' lneeting duriiig the Lyttelton by-election, and called the Minister a liar, was brought before the court to-day. He was convicted and ordered to pay costs on the charge of disturbing the meeting. The other charge, that of using insulting words, was dismissed. The magistrate said that it was evident that Shacklock was temperamental and perhaps not so well-bal-anced as some other people in the community. He was somewhat excitable and would probably be so excited that he would not kno\V what he was doing. His Worship added that to interrupt wilfully at a meeting was not fair play. Defendant should be ashamed of his conduct at this meeting.
