MINISTER SAYS CANNOT MAKE REDUCTION NOW COST OF BUILDING SUBSIDY

Wellington, Thursday "W d were hoping that it might be possihle to reduce the taxation levied for unemployment purposes but there does not appear to be any immediate prospect of our being able to do that now," said the Minister of Employrnent (Hon. Adam Hamilton) in the course of an interview to-day. Mr. Hamilton said that had it not been for the building subsidy, it might have been possible slightly tc reduce the taxation but he thought that it would be agreed that the building scheme would prove of gxveat value in providing productive employinent.
