RUNANGA BUILDING IS COMPLETELY DESTROYED
Greymouth, Wednesday The State school at Runanga was destroyed by fire early this znorning. The main building of five large classrooms, the two primer rooms, the dental clinic, two shelter sheds, and the tool and wood sheds were completely demolished. The only materials saved were the contents of the primer rooms and the dental clinic. The absence of fire-fighting appai'atus left the res'idents helpless to cope with the blaze. Arrangements are being made to s'ecure St. Thomas' Church, the gymnasium, and the Druid's Hall as temporary premises to carry ozz school work.
